On 8 March the ABGSC Women in Finance Foundation supported a Women in Finance Day at NTNU Trondheim. The event, which fell on International Women’s Day, was hosted by the Women in Finance student group at the university.
The purpose of the event was to provide the approximately 125 participating students with insight into the finance industry, as well as the chance to meet representatives from the industry. The event had two parts: an open-house session, in which several firms, including ABG Sundal Collier, greeted students at exhibit stands and answered their questions – plus an evening session, in which students and representatives from the various firms gathered for dinner and lectures.
During the evening event, ABGSC’s Tuva Einang Prestegard, of the Oslo Investment Banking team, delivered the opening speech. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of female role models in attracting more women to work in the finance industry. She also presented the stories of three other women who work at ABGSC, explaining their different roles and backgrounds, to illustrate the spectrum of career paths available.
Reflecting on the event, the Foundation’s Marianne Daae commented that, “We are so impressed with Women in Finance NTNU for hosting such an inspiring event. Thank you to everyone who helped plan the event, and to those who showed interest and attended!”
The Foundation has supported the Women in Finance student group at NTNU Trondheim since the group was established, and has been the group’s main partner during that time (i.e. since 2020).

About Women in Finance NTNU Trondheim
Women in Finance NTNU is a student organisation at NTNU Trondheim, offering educational events and information, mainly for female students interested in learning more about financial markets and exploring career opportunities within the financial sector. The group hosts an annual finance conference, in addition to lectures and workshops throughout the year. The organisation’s goals are to:

  1. Create a network of female students interested in finance;
  2. Provide members with the necessary skills and relationships to pursue careers in the financial sector; and,
  3. Inspire more female students to pursue careers in the financial sector, thereby contributing to making affirmative action unnecessary.
