Want to learn how to invest? Tune into “Investering by.Stack”, a podcast aimed at inspiring women to invest

In December the ABG Sundal Collier Women in Finance Foundation began supporting the “Investering by.Stack” podcast. The podcast is produced by hosts Madeleine Bjørnestad Røed and Christine Thorsen Kvaalen, who interview special guests (most of whom are women) about a range of finance and investment-related topics, with the aim of encouraging more women to start investing.
Investering by.Stack was launched in autumn 2022; so far 13 episodes of the podcast have been released. The Foundation’s support will run from December 2022 to January 2023.
“There is a major gap between male and female capital ownership in Norway; 80 per cent of privately-owned assets on the Oslo Stock Exchange are owned by men”, explains co-host Madeleine Bjørnestad Røed. “This means that men, as they invest more, get richer and richer, while women continue to fall behind. We believe this needs to change!”
The podcast highlights many different aspects of investing, from how to pick the best stocks, to the experience of founders who have built a business and thereby learned about financing a start-up.
Thanks to the Foundation’s support, Investering by.Stack will produce three episodes, released between late December 2022 and January 2023, that will focus not just on the topic of investing, but also on the topic of what it is actually like to work in the financial sector. Madeleine explains that “Our podcast is especially popular among female students, and, just as we hope that it will encourage them to begin investing, in turn we hope that it will also encourage them to consider finance as a field of study and potential career path”.
The Foundation’s Marianne Daae comments that: “Our objective is to see more women working in the finance industry. We believe that initiatives which aim to increase women’s motivation to invest and knowledge about investments will have a positive impact on recruiting women to the field. Podcasts, as a digital platform, have the ability to reach many listeners, especially young people who are curious about investing. Ultimately, we hope the support from the Foundation will lead to more young women choosing to pursue a career in the financial sector.”

About “Investering by.Stack”
The Investering by.Stack podcast is hosted by Madeleine Bjørnestad Røed and Christine Thorsen Kvaalen, co-founders of the Stack by.me investing app. Via the podcast, the two hosts aim to reduce the gap between male and female investors, as they strongly believe that, in order for women to optimize their long-term savings, it is important for them to invest their funds. Madeleine and Christine’s goal is to make investing accessible to everyone, and in particular young women and/or female students. They release new episodes of the podcast twice per month and receive around 1000 listens every month.
