ABGSC is proud to support NRK’s annual TV campaign (Norwegian “TV-aksjonen”). This year’s campaign is called “Sammen redder vi liv” (“Together we save lives”), and it will raise funds on behalf of Doctors Without Borders (Norwegian: “Leger Uten Grenser”) and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative’s (DNDi), in their efforts to provide life-saving healthcare to people in need.
About the “Sammen redder vi liv” campaign
At this moment, millions of people around the world are waiting to be treated by a doctor; for many, however, access to healthcare is not a given.
A lack of public healthcare has major consequences for both society and individuals: children don’t get to grow up, families lose loved ones, young people don’t get an education and people fall outside the workforce. Without access to medical treatment, vaccines or medicines, millions of people lose their lives every year.
This year’s campaign will support efforts to prevent and treat diseases in four countries: Bangladesh, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Sierra Leone. The charities whom the campaign is supporting will develop and provide vaccines, offer access to life-saving medicines, and provide medical treatment.
“We greatly appreciate ABG Sundal Collier’s commitment and contribution to this year’s TV-aksjon to Doctors Without Borders! It is so important that businesses join in and contribute year after year. We would like to give a big thank you to everyone at ABGSC and we hope to see you as ‘bøssebærere’ on Sunday October 23rd! Together we save lives!” – Tiril Ellingsen Thue, NRK TV Campaign
“This year’s NRK TV campaign, ‘Sammen redder vi liv’ supports the crucial objective of providing life-saving healthcare to those who are most in need. We are pleased to offer our support and we encourage our colleagues and friends, if they wish, to make private donations as well”. – Peter Straume, Managing Partner & CEO ABG Sundal Collier Norway.
