CEO comment: Record third-quarter revenues reflect the strength of our diversified Nordic platform
ABGSC delivered the highest third-quarter revenues to date, increasing by 25% compared with the same period last year, while underlying diluted EPS adjusted for write-offs increased by 30%.
Our M&A and Advisory franchise delivered strong results despite the seasonal slowdown typically seen in the third quarter, with several completed transactions across sectors and a notable contribution from Project Finance. Within capital markets, the IPO market remains accessible for well-positioned issuers, and there is solid appetite for primary and secondary equity transactions across geographies. DCM delivered another strong quarter, although activity was below the exceptionally strong comparable period. Brokerage and Research also made solid contributions, driven primarily by Equity Sales. This broad-based performance once again demonstrated the strength of our diversified Nordic platform.
During the quarter, we announced our partnership with Nordnet to establish a jointly owned private banking company in Sweden. The new company will combine ABGSC’s personal advisory services, discretionary portfolio management and institutional research with Nordnet’s digital platform, broad product offering and customer reach. The response has
been very positive and reinforces our confidence in the strength of the combination.
The Board also appointed Sverre Tyrhaug as the new CEO of ABGSC. Sverre will assume the role during the fourth quarter. Until then, my full focus remains on leading ABGSC and ensuring a smooth transition.
Looking ahead, we enter the fourth quarter with a solid pipeline across products and geographies, supported by high levels of client activity. Our focus is on converting these opportunities while continuing to strengthen our market position.
