On 19 February, the Copenhagen Economics and Finance Association (CEFA) hosted a networking event that brought together around 30 female postgraduate students from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) and representatives from a range of companies from the finance industry, including ABG Sundal Collier.
The event offered participating students the chance to network with like-minded women and hear presentations from the participating corporate representatives who provided insights into potential career paths within the finance industry. It took place at Smykbar Frederiksberg, a jewellery-making workshop, which meant that participants also had the chance to connect in a laid-back atmosphere, while creating jewellery. Representing ABGSC was Karita Mellemgaard, of the Investment Banking team, who shared insights from her career journey and chatted with the students.
The ABGSC Women in Finance Foundation was pleased to support the event, having previously done so last year. Last year’s event generated strong interest and positive feedback, with participating students highlighted the welcoming atmosphere and the ease with which the event allowed them to network, ask questions and receive honest career advice from female professionals.
Since inception in 2014, CEFA has hosted close to 70 events, with the goal of serving as a bridge between postgraduate students at CBS and potential employers. The events are designed to facilitate networking, knowledge-sharing, and provide insight into career opportunities. Some of the events are female-only, with the aim of strengthening networks among female finance students, providing inspiration and peer support, and encouraging dialogue about increasing female representation and leadership in finance, with the overall goal of inspiring students to pursue career opportunities within the finance industry.
