In an interview with the Kvinner i Finans Charter (“Women in Finance Charter”) initiative, ABGSC Women in Finance Foundation Chairman Adele Norman Pran shares her career insights and tells us what advice she would give to fellow leaders in the industry and why the Kvinner i Finans Charter is so important

“You must be visible and express your opinions”, Adele Norman Pran advised young women in a recent interview.
Speaking to the organisation Kvinner i Finans Charter (“Women in Finance Charter”), Pran also had some advice for current leaders in the industry: “It does not help to have goals if you have not spent time ensuring your organisation understands why gender balance is important, and how it contributes to the company”.
Her comments were shared as part of an ongoing video series produced by the Kvinner i Finans Charter, in which the organisation interviews female leaders who share their insights and advice. Among the topics Pran touched on, she also mentioned her belief that a career in finance can be very meaningful, especially in so far as the industry enables capital to drive sustainable growth.
The video series focuses on the theme that “The finance industry is ‘chock-full’ of skilled women”, many of whom have taken chances and forged a path for younger generations. The aim of the video series is to urge more companies in the finance industry to sign on to its Charter; signatories to the charter pledge their commitment to set internal targets for gender balance.
The ABGSC Women in Finance Foundation is one of the founding partners of the Kvinner i Finans Charter and is proud to partner with the initiative.

About the Kvinner i Finans Charter
The Kvinner i Finans Charter is an initiative that was created to help increase the proportion of women in leadership positions in the Norwegian finance industry. Signatories to the charter commit their organisations to the following: appointing one member of the executive committee to have dedicated responsibility for gender balance and inclusion; setting internal targets for gender balance in leadership and senior positions; publishing status and progress towards targets on own website; and establishing a plan to reflect the achievement of targets in leadership remuneration. The Kvinner i Finans Charter is backed by the several key industry associations in Norway.
