Earlier this year, a student-driven initiative designed to inspire, educate, and empower women interested in finance and investment, launched at multiple universities across Norway (including NTNU, NMBU, NHH, BI Oslo, Oslo Met, UIO), as well as in Denmark (CBS), Spain and UK. The group was named WIC (Women’s Investment Club) at all the locations.
The establishment of the initiative at the different schools was initially sponsored by Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM). The ABG Sundal Collier Women in Finance Foundation was pleased to receive an application from an additional relevant student initiative at NHH and provide support to its efforts to connect female students and encourage them to pursue career opportunities within the finance industry.
WIC’s goal is to create a collaborative space where women can learn, grow, and connect with like-minded peers while gaining the skills and confidence to pursue careers in finance. Through workshops, events, and social gatherings, the student group aim to provide:
- Hands-on learning: Practical workshops on investing, financial analysis and career development
- Expert insights: Talks and lectures from finance professionals and industry leaders
- Networking opportunities: Social gatherings where members can connect and share experiences
During the spring semester, WIC NHH carried out panel debates, workshops and other activities aiming to increase the awareness of the new group among female students.
For example, a trading and asset management simulation (link to the event here) was organized together with AmplifyMe, a trading simulation solution. All the participating students were offered to test themselves as both traders and asset managers, and motivated to take fast decisions based on market data as well as manage an investment portfolio.

The group also facilitated a panel debate that focused on what to expect of finance careers in the future, among other topics (link to the event here).
