“I have met so many nice people, who have made me feel very welcome. I was given the opportunity to work on real projects from day one, which made me feel like I was contributing to something valuable and that my efforts were both useful and appreciated. It has been very motivating to work in an environment where I’m surrounded by so many dedicated and talented people who always strive to deliver their best”.

What do you find attractive about a career in finance?
“I believe the finance industry plays a fundamental role, both for individual businesses and for the economy as a whole; no business can grow without financing. Plus, I believe that a career in finance offers broad exposure to a variety of sectors and issues, which is something I find interesting on both an academic and a personal level”.
What made you choose a summer internship in finance?
“For many years now I have been interested in learning how the stock market works and how to properly do a company valuation. I started investing in stocks as soon as I turned 18. Once I began studying at university, I joined a finance group where we manage a fund of stocks; I also started attending seminars presented by companies within the industry. As a result, I became curious about the possibility of working in the industry, and especially the possibility of learning how to identify good stock purchases. I also have some friends who have worked in finance, who enjoyed it, and they recommended that I apply!”
Can you describe your time as an intern at ABGSC?
“I received a very warm welcome when I joined ABGSC this summer. So far I have worked with both the Construction & Real estate team and the Energy team. I have learned a lot and have been given the chance to solve real issues, related to real projects, and have gained insight in various sectors. My colleagues at ABGSC are nice to work with as they are, in my opinion, professional, knowledgeable and have a great sense of humour!”
What do you hope to learn from your internship this summer?
“I hope to gain insight into working in equity research, and, in particular, how an average workday at ABGSC compares to other investment banks in Oslo. I want to gain more knowledge of how equity research analysts do valuations of companies, how to search for relevant information in an efficient way, and how to structure it. Also, I hope to improve my excel skills significantly”.

Also, I thrive in environments where I am surrounded by knowledgeable people, and where I get to learn something new and develop my skills every day – as is the case within the finance industry”.
