On 20 February, Copenhagen Economics and Finance Association (CEFA) hosted a networking event that brought together around 30 female master’s students from Copenhagen Business School (CBS) along with representatives from a range of companies; among them EY, Novo Nordisk and ABG Sundal Collier.
The ABG Sundal Collier Women in Finance Foundation was pleased to welcome an application from an additional student initiative and provide support to its efforts to connect female economics and finance students at CBS with leading corporations, and thereby encouraging them to pursue career opportunities within the finance industry.

The event featured a variety of activities and presentations, such as an introduction of each of the participating corporate representatives, who all were female professionals with a CEFA related educational background with some years of full-time work experience. Karita Mellemgaard from ABGSC’s Investment Banking team was pleased to join the event and share her journey with the students. The evening offered a setting for knowledge sharing between women in the same sectors, as well as providing insights into potential career trajectories for the attending students. The group of participants also had the opportunity to craft something special while networking with like-minded women, as the event took place at Smykbar Østerbro.

Ahead of the event, CEFA representative Sofia Norlin was very satisfied with the response received by students and commented that: “After promoting the event through various student groups, social media, and booths at CBS, the available spots were sold out within a couple of days, which proved the strong interest for this kind of event. In total, 65 female students showed interest in attending. Master students, of which the majority are studying at the Finance and Strategic Management program, represented most of the sign-ups, but it was encouraging that we experienced interest from several last-year bachelor students within economics and finance as well. We hope all the participants were introduced to new insight and will consider pursuing a career in finance after attending the event.”
