Last week, students from Lund University’s “Female Network” visited Stockholm for a “Female Banking Tour”. The tour, which ran from 27 – 30 September, featured stops at numerous banks/investment banks around the city, including ABG Sundal Collier. The event is one of the student organisation’s biggest annual events.
The ABGSC Women in Finance Foundation is proud to have supported the Female Banking Tour, having begun supporting the Female Network in Q1 2023.
The tour featured presentations, interactive case studies, and Q&A sessions, as well as the opportunity for students to meet representatives from the various firms’ different divisions, and learn about their internship programs. In addition to ABGSC, participating firms included Bank of America, Citi, Danske Bank, Handelsbanken, Morgan Stanley, and SEB.
The Female Network is part of “LINC”, the Lund University Finance Society. The organisation’s mandate is to help women pursue and develop their interest in finance through a variety of events and initiatives that they produce throughout the year. One of the group’s current aims, having received support from the Foundation, is to make their activities as welcoming and inclusive as possible by, for example, covering all transport fees for events which they hold outside of Lund. Thus, with the Foundation’s support, this autumn’s Female Banking Tour was for the first time completely free for the participating students.
Emilia Jensen, head of the Female Network, commented that: “The Female Banking Tour is an excellent opportunity for female students at Lund University to gain insight into the finance industry and network with representatives from both Swedish and international banks, equipping them for possible internships and/or jobs within the industry. As part of the tour, we also arrange a dinner with LINC alumni in Stockholm, which offers participating students a further way of getting to know people in the industry”.
Anna Abrahamsson, Head of People at ABG Sundal Collier, commented that: “We were pleased to once again welcome the LINC Female Network to ABGSC’s office in Stockholm! Events like these are an invaluable way for students who are considering their career options to learn about the wide range of opportunities within the finance industry, gain first-hand experience of what it’s like to work within finance, and get to know people in the industry. I was impressed by the level of enthusiasm among the participating students and hope that they came away from their time at ABGSC feeling inspired to pursue a career in finance!”

About the LINC Female Network
The Female Network is a committee within the Lund University Finance Society (“LINC”), whose mission is to help women pursue, get inspired, and develop their interest in finance. The organisation was established five years ago, making it relatively young in comparison to its parent organisation LINC, which was founded in 1991. The Female Network arranges guest lectures, networking events, and banking tours with national and international top firms. Its two most important events are the Women’s Business Conference in Lund and the Female Banking Tour in Stockholm.
