On Thursday 1 February the Foundation was pleased to partner with Feminvest, Sweden’s largest hub for female entrepreneurs and investors, to host “Investment Trends 2024” in Oslo. The fully-booked event, which was held at ABG Sundal Collier’s office in Oslo, brought together more than 40 female participants for an evening of networking, learning and insight. The purpose of the event was to empower attendees to recognise investment and other opportunities in the market in 2024, as well as to provide the opportunity for women who are interested in investments to connect with one another. Participants heard from the following presenters:
-Bengt Jonassen, Equity Research Analyst at ABG Sundal Collier, who shared his global market outlook for 2024
-Catharina Svanborg, Founder and Chairman of Hamlet BioPharma, who presented the company’s drive to develop new cancer drugs and talked about her entrepreneurial journey
-Madeleine Bjørnestad Røed, CEO and Co-Founder of Stack by.me, who explained possible investment strategies, with a particular focus on the differences between passive and active management funds
-Cecilie Langum Becker, NRK economics commentator and author, who described the current status of the Norwegian economy

The Foundation was proud to help facilitate the event. The Foundation’s Managing Director, Marianne Daae, commented that: “We hope the event encouraged the female participants to embrace the opportunities available within the realms of investing and the finance industry. We were proud to partner with Feminvest, an organisation that, like us, is committed to encouraging more women to pursue opportunities in finance. Thank you to all of the presenters who joined us – it was fantastic to hear your insights!”
“Investment Trends 2024” marks the second occasion on which Feminvest has hosted an event in Norway. In September 2023 they launched the first edition of their flagship “Fearless” event series in Oslo, which the Foundation also supported (you can read about it here). The Foundation will continue to support Feminvest’s “Fearless” events in 2024, including their Oslo event this spring and their Stockholm event in the autumn.
