Interested in learning more about investing from women working in the finance industry? Check out the podcast series “Investering by.Stack”
Beginning in May 2023, the ABG Sundal Collier Women in Finance Foundation will once again support the “Investering by.Stack” podcast, which aims to make investing more accessible to young women. The Foundation previously supported three episodes of the podcast in winter 2022-23. This time, the Foundation will sponsor a total of five episodes, to be released over the coming months, which will mostly feature interviews with female asset managers. Guests will include Andrea Moen of Holberg Fondene and Karin Busch of Storebrand Asset Management, among others. Viewers will hear about their journeys within the finance industry, with the aim of “de-mystifying” the industry.
Investering by.Stack, which was created in 2022, features interviews with a variety of guests (most of whom are women) about a range of finance and investment-related topics. The goal of hosts Madeleine Bjørnestad Røed and Christine Thorsen Kvaalen is to reduce the imbalance between male and female investors by encouraging more women to start investing. The podcast’s target audience is women between 20 and 35 years old.
Madeleine stresses the importance of reaching out to young women and says that: “Our podcast has proven to be especially popular among female students. In addition to encouraging them to start investing, our other goal, especially when it comes to the episodes sponsored by the Foundation, is to encourage our listeners to consider applying for jobs within the finance industry. In order to make sure these episodes get maximum exposure, we will be marketing them to students directly, via social media, student channels, and other tools”.
The previous Investering by.Stack episodes sponsored by the Foundation experienced high visibility and elicited extensive interactions on social media; approximately 170,000 people watched Instagram posts related to the episodes, while approximately 50,000 watched posts on LinkedIn. Some 1,500 listeners tuned into the podcast episodes.
The Foundation’s Marianne Daae comments that: “Podcasts are a new tool that we only started supporting last year. Through this tool, we have the ability to reach new and broader audiences, which we hope will be instrumental in furthering the Foundation’s aims and objectives. We are impressed with the work that young female podcast hosts like Madeleine and Christine are doing to generate greater interest in finance among female listeners and to highlight some of the impressive women already working within the field”.
