On Thursday 14 November, ABGSC and the ABGSC Women in Finance Foundation together welcomed 23 female university students for a “Women Insight Day” at ABGSC’s office in Stockholm.
The event, which was held for the third consecutive year, offered participants the chance to acquire practical skills, receive career advice, and gain a greater understanding of the variety of career opportunities within the finance industry. The purpose of the event was to help increase female students’ interest in the finance industry and lower the barrier to entry by offering first-hand experience of what it’s like to work within the industry.
Participants came from several places across Sweden, and from as far afield as London, Copenhagen and Barcelona; the universities that were represented included the Stockholm School of Economics, Stockholm University, Uppsala University, Lund University, Linköping University, Örebro University, Hult International Business School, CBS – Copenhagen Business School, and Barcelona School of Economics.
The students were welcomed by ABGSC CEO Jonas Ström; following that, they heard from a variety of presenters, including: Olof Cederholm (ABGSC); Erik Skog (ABGSC); the Foundation’s Marianne Daae and Catrin Jansson (C Worldwide); guest speaker Ida Saalman (Investment AB Latour), Anna Strömberg (Carnegie Fonder); and lead initiator of the event Mirjam Medelli (ABGSC). Additionally, the day included a panel discussion, case training session, and networking mingle. The event was rounded off with a dinner.

ABGSC Talent acquisition specialist Thea Bruun Klausen, who helped organize the event, commented that: “We are so pleased to have hosted the Women Insight Day for the third consecutive year in Stockholm. We have received a lot of positive feedback from the participating students, which is highly encouraging. I hope the students gained insight and were inspired to pursue a career within the finance industry after attending the Women Insight Day. It was fantastic to meet so many enthusiastic young people, and I look very much forward to stay in touch with them during the years ahead!”
