Wizer has signed an agreement to divest its fibre broadband infrastructure to GlobalConnect. The transaction significantly increases GlobalConnect’s footprint in the Danish market and solidifies its ambitions to digitize society with future-proof fibre infrastructure across the Nordics. The agreement includes a permanent commercial collaboration, where Wizer will establish fibre infrastructure as a subcontractor to GlobalConnect. Further, Wizer will continue to focus on its high-speed broadband ISP offering following the transaction.
Wizer is a Danish provider of subscription-based high-speed broadband connectivity to private customers, primarily via own fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure, historically. The FTTH network of Wizer comprises approximately 20,000 homes passed located in Greater Copenhagen and Northern Zealand.
GlobalConnect is one of the leading digital infrastructure and data communication providers in Northern Europe, providing end-to-end solutions across its own infrastructure in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Germany. GlobalConnect is owned by the private equity fund EQT.
