BeGreen, a Danish-based market leader within solar PV development in North-West Europe, today announced the sale to Equinor, an international energy company committed to long-term value creation in a low-carbon future.
BeGreen has a proven track record as a solar PV developer and a strong project pipeline in attractive power markets. The BeGreen team has fully developed, sold and delivered solar PV capacity of more than 700 MW. BeGreen has established a project portfolio of over 6 GW in Denmark, Sweden and Poland, with an average project size of 300 MW.
The acquisition strengthens Equinor’s capabilities and portfolio within solar PV and represents an important building block to Equinor’s industrial renewables position in Europe, in line with the ambition to be a leading company in the energy transition.
BeGreen and the sellers engaged ABG Sundal Collier in Q1 2022, with the purpose of finding the right future owner for BeGreen. ABG arranged an exclusive process targeted towards few select strategic buyers. The terms of the transaction are undisclosed, and closing is subject to customary merger filling and Danish FDI approval.
