ABGSC acted as financial advisor to the shareholders of Geomatikk in the majority sale to and partnership with Hg Capital (“HG”)

On Friday 18 December 2020, Hg, one of the leading European software investors’, announced the majority investment in and partnership with Geomatikk. Hg will alongside the existing shareholders continue to support Geomatikk (the “Company”) on its further growth journey. The founders, Ketil Sandhaug and Knut Bratsberg (CEO), alongside with the management team, will remain as significant investors in the Company. Established in 2005, Geomatikk is a leading tech-enabled services provider managing the entire value chain relating to critical underground excavation requests. The core product comprises a comprehensive digitized system for mapping of underground infrastructure in Norway, Sweden, and Finland, built on a highly advanced, fully integrated technology backbone addressing the entire ecosystem for all stakeholders. As a one-stop-shop provider, Geomatikk also offers several complementary workflows and services in relation to protecting critical underground infrastructure and has become a vital part in serving asset owners, authorities, and excavators across the Nordic region. Geomatikk has since the inception delivered an outstanding financial performance and successful Nordic expansion, and will through its partnership with Hg be well equipped to continue enhancing its high value services offering, utilizing its tech-enabled service to bring its product to other regions in Northern Europe. ABGSC acted as financial adviser to Geomatikk for the second time after advising in the ownership transition in 2005. The terms of the transactions are undisclosed, and closing is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
