On 19 March, the Women in Finance student organization at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (“NTNU”) Trondheim hosted their annual “Women in Finance Day”; the group’s main event of the year that brought together around 160 female students and 25 corporate representatives. Both the ABGSC Women in Finance Foundation and ABGSC jointly contributed to the event for the fourth consecutive year.
The day consisted of a daytime session, in which students could ask questions to representatives from ABGSC and several other firms at stands at the university, as well as an evening session, in which students and the various firms met for dinner along with presentations at the Britannia hotel. During the latter session, the Foundation’s Marianne Daae and ABGSC’s Emilie Nysted Elvebakk delivered the opening speech, then followed a presentation by representatives from Viking Ventures and Nordea, before Tale Kuvås Solberg (CEO EnergiPartner, Executive and Board member) rounded up the evening.

The Women in Finance initiative at NTNU Trondheim was established in 2019 and the ABGSC Women in Finance Foundation has been supporting the student group since then. As of 2024, the student group reported a member base of nearly 600 female students, proving a significant growth since establishment as well as strong presence within the student community.
In addition to last week’s event, the student group organizes various lectures, workshops and social gatherings for its members throughout the academic year. Also, in February, the group’s steering committee visited Oslo for an educational trip designed to give them insight to how women in the financial sector operate, allowing them to observe and learn from industry professionals. ABGSC was one of the companies the group paid a visit to, and along with the Foundation’s Marianne Daae the participants had the chance to meet with Åsne Helene Hustad Holsen from ABGSC Equity Research and Emilie Nysted Elvebakk from ABGSC Investment Banking.
